Panic Values are established by the laboratory and cause the laboratory to immediately call the result(s). Panic values should always be reported to the medical staff immediately.

Abnormal lab results not included below should be reported to the medical staff on the next business day if different from the patient's baseline. If the result is not different from the patient's baseline, the abnormal results should be reported on the next regular rounds.
